skype Is Skype and Windows 7 a Perfect Match? Many people are looking into advanced mobile communications systems and that is why a number of service providers have jump started  systems to provide a fast, easy and innovative way for communicating. Today, most of us use Skype as our main software not just to talk but use it to send and receive files, instant messaging and video conferencing. Skype was started in 2003 and ever since then, the company has grown big and operates with large scale clients all over the world.  Apart from downloading the leading software application, it has its own versions that are compatible with the operating system that you are using.

Windows 7 and Skype Capability

Skype does not only pertain to VOIP or voice calls over the internet but it allows users to call traditional land line phones or mobile phones. Of course, calls made from Skype to these communication devices have its corresponding fee using a debit-based user account system. The reason why Skype is the most downloaded and installed software application for communication is because of its hassle free system. Skype created a leveling hierarchy that identifies what application a specific user should download. They could choose the free version that allows end users to communicate with each other using Skype. Also, they have created a premium version as stated above. Furthermore, Skype has become the leading internet based communications provider so they decided to venture into the business area and created an application specific for business usage.

The first question that may pop into your head is if Skype is available for everybody. Yes, Skype is available for download and installation, all you have to do is to find the right version that would fit your operating system.

What are the Major Capability Issues Between Skype and Windows 7

Windows 7 is the newest operating system Microsoft created and so, there are glitches pertaining to the compatibility of most software application and not just Skype. Windows 7 was released last March 2010 and its beta version followed in July. Back in March, before the beta was released, rumors flew all over the internet that Skype had killed the availability of its application for windows 7 but later in the year, they released Skype 3.8, the first version of Skype for windows. It is said that Skype 3.8 is certified compatible with windows 7 however there are many issues with regard to its full compatibility.

Skype released the second version which is Skype 4.0 but they have continually received poor reviews from users like the system crashing. That followed with another release of Skype version 4.2 that works perfectly with windows 7 but on some PC’s or laptops, other software devices or plug-ins have been affected. Some versions of the Windows operating system would differ in compatibility as well. Windows 7 v7000 runs Skype 4.0 perfectly but when users upgraded to windows 7 v7057, some features do not display at all. So Skype released earlier this year, on January 6, 2011 the newest version, Skype 5.1. They have started many beta features that include group video calling, group file sending and a whole lot more. There have been no known issues with the compatibility. It has impeccable audio and video quality. Skype has been planning to introduce features in its future version including an improved taskbar and jump-list functions to integrate with windows 7.

What are the Top Solutions for Skype and Windows 7 Problems

Before ever trying out a new software application, the basic process that you should do is try to perform a PC scan, in that way, so that you can see how your system is configured now and then you are able to see errors that could appear in the future. Also, in that way, you would be able to diagnose future problems without even trying to pick up the phone for a technical rep to help you out with any issues. Some operating system works perfectly fine with Skype but since Microsoft released its latest operating system, many applications have been modified to be compatible with the system. The problem doesn’t come just from the software application but from its interaction with the operating system and other installed software.
